I don’t think there’s just one singular “Will of D.” Honestly, it’s starting to look like there are two D lines the Joyboy line and the Davy line and they were on opposite sides. We don’t have the full picture yet, but the pieces are definitely pointing that way. Imu seems to be especially focused on certain members of the D clan specifically, those who carry the direct wills of Joyboy or Davy Jones. The others who don’t inherit that “true” will probably aren’t seen as threats. And then there’s Vivi. Imu’s weird obsession with her makes a lot more sense if her ancestor was a D who betrayed Imu. That kind of betrayal would explain why Imu keeps tabs on her lineage in particular.

I’ve seen a few people suggest that Davy D. Jones might’ve been the king of the Ancient Kingdom. If that’s true, wouldn’t that make Joyboy and Davy Jones related somehow? Joyboy seems to have been to the Ancient Kingdom what Oden was to Wano a successor, a beacon of hope, someone who was meant to carry the torch forward. So maybe Joyboy was actually the heir to the throne of the Ancient Kingdom. Now here’s where it gets interesting: what if the Davy D. family betrayed Joyboy in exchange for Imu’s promise to make them “King of the World” after Joyboy’s defeat? Kind of like how the Nefertari family betrayed the ancient alliance but this time, it’s Joyboy who gets betrayed.

But after Joyboy fell, Imu turned on Davy D. Jones, either killing or cursing him, completely breaking that promise. That would explain why Imu is still so paranoid terrified that the Ds might return. Davy D. Jones would dethrone him, and Joyboy would “turn the world upside down.”

As for Eris… I don’t think she’s gone. We know Teach grew up as an orphan, but what if Kuma teleported certain people to different places? Eris telling Xebec to meet her at Lulusia and Imu targeting Lulusia for seemingly no reason feels too connected to ignore. Maybe Imu found out a surviving member of the Davy line was still living there.
