One Piece Chapter 1164: The God Valley Incident Escalates - The Tragic Fallout of Imu's Power
The revelations flowing from the God Valley flashback have made One Piece Chapter 1164 one of the most anticipated in the final saga. Following the jaw-dropping cliffhanger of the previous chapter, where Imu unleashed their terrifying Domi Reversi ability on Rocks D. Xebec, the story is set to explore the immediate, catastrophic fallout.
The Immediate Aftermath: Rocks D. Xebec's Transformation
Chapter 1163 ended with a monumental shift: the combined, all-out attack by Rocks, Kaido, Whitebeard, Big Mom, Roger, and Garp failed to significantly stop Imu, who then used the mysterious "Domi Reversi" to command Rocks revealed as belonging to the "cursed Davy clan" to execute his own family.
Expected Scenario in Chapter 1164:
Rocks' Obedience and Anguish: The primary focus is likely to be on the tragic corruption of Rocks D. Xebec. The Domi Reversi ability appears to strip the victim of their free will, forcing them to obey Imu's command, turning them into a "demon" or a puppet of the World Government's shadow leader. Chapter 1164 should show Rocks in this forced state, his incredible power now directed against his own crew and family, leading to immense emotional and physical devastation.
The Race to Save Rocks' Family: With Rocks turned, the immediate danger is to his loved ones, including his wife and possibly his child (speculated to be a young Marshall D. Teach/Blackbeard and/or Eris). This forces Roger and Garp, whose alliance was just beginning, to act as protectors, trying to stop the rampaging Rocks while simultaneously fighting off the Holy Knights and Marine forces.
Imu's Withdrawal: Having unleashed their ultimate weapon, Imu may now withdraw, much like a general who has used their ultimate tactical weapon. This would allow the focus to remain on the chaotic battle on God Valley, particularly the heartbreaking conflict between the transformed Rocks and his former allies.
Key Insights and Potential Scenario Threads
1. The Nature of Domi Reversi
Chapter 1164 is crucial for defining the limits and mechanisms of Imu's frightening power.
Mechanism of Control: Is it a Devil Fruit ability, a form of ancient Sorcery/Magic as hinted by some fan theories, or a unique power of their ancient lineage? The term Reversi suggests a "reversal" or "turning back," possibly a reversal of will or a corruption of the individual's essence.
The Will of D: The emphasis on Rocks' "Davy Clan" lineage before Imu's attack suggests the ability is tied to the secrets of the Void Century and the "D." It could be a power specifically designed to subjugate or destroy the 'D' clan, making Imu's fear of Joy Boy (and by extension, Luffy) even more palpable.
2. The Final Moments of the Rocks Pirates
The internal conflict within the Rocks Pirates was already a point of weakness. Now, with their captain a raging puppet, the crew's total collapse is imminent.
Young Whitebeard, Kaido, and Big Mom: How do these future Emperors react? They just witnessed their collective attack fail against Imu and their captain transformed. They are likely to prioritize their own survival, scattering and solidifying their paths to independent power. Kaido may seek out his own crew, Whitebeard his "family," and Big Mom her own kingdom. The Treasure of God Valley: The God Valley incident was also about the treasure. Chapter 1164 could reveal how Roger's crew acquires the "treasure" hinted atpotentially the young Shanks, a powerful Devil Fruit, or even a Poneglyph amidst the chaos. The ultimate defeat of Rocks will likely be a team-up between a desperate Garp and Roger, forever linking the three in history.
3. Connections to the Present Day
Every moment in the flashback is an echo of the present.
Blackbeard's Legacy: If the "Davy Jones" lineage connects to Blackbeard (Marshall D. Teach), the scene of Rocks being forced to attack his family could foreshadow Blackbeard's eventual confrontation with his own "family" (the Blackbeard Pirates) or even his own conflicted sense of justice. It could also provide the in-story explanation for his unique, dual Devil Fruit power.
The Future of Elbaf: Given that the entire flashback is currently being revealed in the present-day Elbaf Arc, the climax of God Valley will likely lead directly back to a major confrontation on Elbaf. The Domi Reversi on Rocks D. Xebec parallels the World Government's potential use of a similar power on the Giants Dorry and Brogy, emphasizing the immediate danger facing the Straw Hats.
Chapter 1164 is set to be a tragic and action-packed installment, solidifying Imu as the ultimate, world-shaping antagonist and giving context to the legendary but devastating end of the Rocks Pirates.
ReplyDeleteSo it looks like Davy Jones and Joyboy aren’t the same. Davy Jones was more than likely the leader of the Ancient Kingdom and it’s almost guaranteed that we’ll find out that he initiated whatever caused the 20 Kings to team up. Looks like the theory that the 20 Kings might’ve been partially justified (at the time) is true.
