Gloriosa

Gloriosa, commonly referred to as "Elder Nyon," serves as an advisor to the current empress of the Kuja tribe, Boa Hancock. She is a former empress from three generations prior to Hancock, having once captained the Kuja Pirates, and was also a member of the legendary Rocks Pirates. Remarkably diminutive in stature, Gloriosa has thick lips and is marked by the wrinkles of old age. She wears a sea-green bubble belt, which holds up the spotted-print short skirt typical of the Kuja tribe, along with a cape. Her hair is white, and she adorns her head with a pink flower on the left side.

In her youth, while part of the Rocks Pirates, Gloriosa was a tall, slender, and strikingly beautiful woman with reddish-pink hair. She wore a revealing blue V-neck blouse and a loose sarong that showcased her long legs, emblazoned with the Kuja symbol, along with a white cape featuring epaulettes typically seen on high-ranking Marines. While admired for her beauty, she was often overshadowed by her subordinate, Shakuyaku.

In her first colored appearance during the opening "Share the World," Gloriosa's color scheme differs from the anime, featuring a blue evening wear top instead of the pink-bordered burgundy. Her Snake Weapon is also depicted in purple rather than white, serving as both her staff and a curled-up snake.

Gloriosa embodies the archetype of a wise elder, demonstrating deep concern for Amazon Lily and possessing knowledge that surpasses that of her fellow Kuja. She often requests books from the Kuja Pirates and owns a crystal ball, further enhancing her image as a sage. However, her gullibility is revealed when she mistakenly believes some of Hancock's manipulations regarding the World Government's terms for war. Despite this, she can recover from Hancock's emotional manipulations faster than most.

Although she is no longer the empress, Gloriosa believes she can still roam freely, choosing instead to live on the outskirts of the island due to being labeled a traitor. When Hancock accuses her of worrying about her own life, Gloriosa calmly states that she is too old to concern herself with that, expressing her worries for others on the island instead.

Gloriosa

Unlike many of her fellow Kuja, Gloriosa does not share their misandrist tendencies, likely due to her past experiences with men. Nevertheless, she strictly adheres to the Kuja law prohibiting men from entering Amazon Lily, allowing only a few exceptions.

Gloriosa frequently uses the phrase "Nyo," incorporating it into many words during her speech. She possesses more knowledge than most of her peers, easily identifying Luffy as a man upon seeing him. Her strong willpower allows her to resist Hancock's charms more effectively than most. Despite her advanced age, Gloriosa retains impressive agility; she not only survived being thrown from a building but also landed on her feet unharmed. Her status as a former member of the notorious Rocks Pirates further attests to her formidable nature.

As the former empress of the Kuja, Gloriosa is also capable of using Haki, a skill shared by all members of her tribe.
